Nicole Mary Kidman was born on 20 June 1967 in Honolulu, Hawaii, USA to Dr. Antony David Kidman and Janelle Ann. She has younger sister Antonia who is TV reporter. Her father, Anthony is a biochemist and clinical psychologist and author also. Her mother, Janelle is a nurse and educator who edits her husband's books.
First three years of her life she spent in USA. After that the family moved to Sydney, Australia. Nicole started her career at the age of sixteen. In 1083, she appeared in Australian holiday show Bush Christmas. It was her debut film. This performance gives her many offers. The Australian people voted her the Best Actress of the year. In her 17 she was a singer in a four girl three guy band named Divine Madness.
With the help of an American agent, Nicole appeared in her first film Dead Calm with Sam Neil and Billy Zane in 1989. This film gives her attention of the American audiences, since then, she has become one of the most sought-after young actresses in film. Due to her critically acclaimed performance, she got many awards, including the most valuable Oscar Award.
She met to Tom Cruise on the set of Day of Thunder and after that they got married in Telluride, Colorado on December 24, 1990. The couple adopted two children, Isabella and Connor. But unfortunately, they get divorced a decade after there marriage in 2001. She does three films with Tom Cruise.
1995 was to bring much success. She was featured in the all-star cast of Batman Forever and later that same year she starred in To Die For, earning high praise from critics. Her most professionally successful year was 2001, her Oscar-nominated performance in Moulin Rouge! , horror film The Others. The following year Kidman came back to win the same praise from critics for her portrayal of Virginia Woolf in The Hours. She won the Best Actress Academy Award and Oscar Award for this role.
She got many awards like Golden Globe Award for Best Actress, along with Best Actress Awards from the Boston Film Critics, National Broadcast Film Critics, London Film Critics, and the Seattle Film Festival. She was also nominated by BAFTA in the Best Actress category.
